FAQ

Common Questions

Is this agility equipment?

No. Agility is a competitive sport with standardised obstacles for trained, athletic, medium-sized dogs. Park.dog designs inclusive playground equipment for all dogs โ€” puppies, seniors, active breeds, calm companions, anxious dogs, brachycephalic breeds, and everything in between. Our equipment is designed for the broadest possible range of visitors, not for sport training.

Why can't a local workshop build the same thing?

A workshop can build an object. It cannot replicate the canine biomechanics research behind every dimension, the recycled HDPE that lasts 15+ years without maintenance, the documented design rationale for every angle and gap width, the integrated system design, or the 10-year warranty with spare parts. Over a 10-year lifecycle, purpose-built equipment typically costs less than locally-built alternatives that need treatment, repair, and replacement.

What about having an architect design custom equipment?

Architects design beautiful spaces. But without canine behaviour training, they miss crucial dimensions: ramp angles that cause joint stress, gaps that trap paws, materials that overheat, and entire enrichment categories (scent, balance, sensory) that require canine knowledge to even conceive of. Park.dog combines landscape architecture with professional dog training expertise. Custom designs also typically lack spare parts availability, documented design rationale, and proven performance across breed categories.

What safety standards do your products meet?

There is currently no specific European safety standard for dog playground equipment. That’s why we go further: every material is independently tested for UV resistance, toxicity, load-bearing capacity, and slip resistance. Every dimension is documented with a canine biomechanics rationale. Structural engineering calculations are available for all load-bearing elements. We provide complete material data sheets, installation specifications, and maintenance manuals โ€” giving municipalities the documentation to demonstrate due diligence in procurement.

How much does a dog playground cost?

Equipment packages from €5,000. Small urban playground (100-200 m²): €15K-€35K. Community-scale (300-500 m²): €40K-€80K. Destination playgrounds: €80K-€200K+. We provide detailed estimates including lifecycle cost comparison after consultation.

Do you help with public procurement?

Yes. Tender-ready specifications in DE, FR, EN, ES. Material testing documentation. Lifecycle cost comparison documents that help procurement officers justify purpose-built equipment. EU funding programme guidance.
